“Gorgasali Royal Knife” is one of the first exclusive models from Zarapxana’s Knives Collection. It is based on the 5th century portrait of the Georgian king Vakhtang Gorgasali, and the prosperous era of his time. The blade of the knife is made of high-strengh super steel (K190, HRC 63), yet the wooden body is enhanced with sterling silver embellishments, and decorated with natural turquoise stones. Thirteen turquoises adorning the front view of the knife, represent 13th of December, the day of King Vakhtang Gorgasali’s commemoration. The royal knife presents historical elements, such as the pheasant and the sparrowhawk, which symbolize the founding of Georgia’s capital city, Tbilisi. Another important element depicted in this composition is a bow, which was taken from the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral fresco of Vakhtang Gorgasali.
